Some foods don't just taste good, they also evoke memories.
For me, one such dessert is chocolate molten lava cake.
I remember whenever there was a special day - someone's birthday, passing an exam,
or a get-together - my mother would always make this dessert.
The whole house would smell of chocolate
We would all stand by the kitchen waiting for it to be ready.
I made this dessert myself last week.
Our family had dinner together and everyone was amazed
that I used my mother's old recipe.
When the hot lava cake was served and the first bite
dripped with melted chocolate, everyone applauded.
It was truly magical.
Ingredients
Dark chocolate: 200g (good quality, chopped)
Unsalted butter: 100g
Eggs: 4 (2 whole + 2 yolks)
Sugar: 1/2 cup
All-purpose flour: 1/4 cup
Vanilla essence: 1 teaspoon
A pinch of salt
Butter and cocoa powder: to grease the ramekins
How I made it
First, I greased the small ramekins well with butter and cocoa powder.
So that the lava cake would come out easily.
In a heatproof bowl, I placed the chocolate and butter
and melted it over a double boiler. A faint aroma wafted through the kitchen.
In another bowl, I beat the eggs, yolks and sugar well with a hand beater until it turned pale.
Add the melted chocolate mixture to it.
Finally, add the flour and vanilla essence and fold gently.
Pour the mixture into the ramekins and bake them in a preheated oven (220 ° C) for about 10-12 minutes.
(They should be set on top and slightly soft on the inside)
As soon as they were turned over on a plate, chocolate lava came out -
just like they are served in restaurants.
Serving time
I served it with vanilla ice cream and sprinkled a little
cocoa powder on top. As soon as everyone took their first bite,
everyone had a smile on their face.
The little ones said it was "chocolate magic"!
Truly, this dessert is not only sweet but a memorable moment.
That brings the family closer.
We love hearing from you!
